Chris Joyce

I lost a friend this weekend. His name was Chris Joyce, he was 31 years old, and he was an extraordinarily gifted and kind-hearted young man. It was a privilege to be his friend and I look forward to seeing him again one day.

Thanks. I was blindsided by this news because the last time I had talked to him was a little over a year ago. And I had no idea that he had gotten so very ill so fast. We had just kind of fallen out of each other's orbit...and then he's gone.

He was only 19 when he first became a customer as the owner of his own sound company. We became friends very soon thereafter. He was a real blessing. At 20 he married his wife, who already had a son (now 15). His transition from young single guy to happily-married-with-children was amazing, too. I'm sure his little family are having a pretty tough time right now.

Loss is never easy in our human-ness. So sorry you're hurting as well as his family. Keeping both you and Chris' family in my prayer time.

Barry, I'm so sorry to read this. In spite of my wrestling with the topic of prayer lately, I'll try to do some wrestling IN prayer, too, for you and Chris's family.
